Interactive simulation of a Milky Way–Andromeda style galaxy collision using a Toomre restricted three-body approximation. Demonstrates gravitational tidal interactions, tidal bridges and tails, dark matter halo overlap, starburst triggering from gas-cloud compression, and the gradual merger of two spiral galaxies into a single elliptical remnant over billions of years. Individual stellar collisions are effectively absent due to enormous interstellar distances.
